Principal Global Investors is seeking a Business Support Coordinator to join our London office on a 12-month fixed term contract. This role offers the opportunity to join a global asset management firm and play a key role in supporting day‑to‑day operational and administrative activities across our European business.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Business Support Coordinator provides structured, reliable support to ensure operational projects and ongoing business activities run smoothly. The role is well‑suited to someone who is highly organised, detail‑oriented, and confident coordinating across teams in a fast‑paced environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide day‑to‑day business, administrative, and operational support to the Operations Manager and wider business support team.
  • Support the coordination and delivery of operational and administrative projects, including tracking tasks, timelines, updates, and documentation.
  • Maintain shared drives, trackers, templates, and internal documentation to ensure structured workflows, accuracy, and version control.
  • Oversee and help manage a pipeline of new and ongoing operational initiatives, ensuring progress is tracked and actions are followed up.
  • Ensure operational systems and tools (e.g. spreadsheets, SharePoint sites, folders, logs) are well organised, accurate, and up to date.
  • Liaise with internal teams such as IT, HR, Finance, and Compliance to support routine operational activity and resolve day‑to‑day queries.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and operational logistics, ensuring records and approvals are maintained accurately.
  • Provide backup operational and business support to teams across Europe, escalating more complex matters where appropriate.
  • Support onboarding activities from an administrative and coordination perspective, including scheduling tasks, system access requests, and documentation.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders in relation to meetings, events, and business coordination activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and trackers to support reporting, audit readiness, and business continuity.
Who You Are
  • Educated to A‑level standard or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a business support, operations, administration, or coordination role.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and collaboration tools, including Outlook, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Proactive, dependable, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accurate documentation and record‑keeping.
  • Clear and effective communicator, with a collaborative and supportive working style.
  • Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate issues appropriately.
  • Exposure to project coordination or project management is beneficial but not essential.
  • Additional European language skills (German, French, or Spanish) are an advantage but not required.
