We are working for a Global HVAC manufacturer, who now need to identify an Operations Director for their EMEA assembly operations. Ideally based in the Midlands or the North West, the Operations Director provides operational expertise and guidance to manufacturing, planning and scheduling for our Clients manufacturing plants across the EMEA region. The role requires 50% of your time travelling to the different plants.
In order to be considered for this Executive level role, you will need to demonstrate your ability to fill the following criteria:
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing) or related discipline
- Master's degree (MBA or MSc in Operations/Supply Chain) – preferred
- Professional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt), APICS (CPIM/CSCP), or equivalent
- Substantial experience working with engineering, manufacturing, and distribution operations in an industrial environment
- Substantial experience and knowledge of manufacturing configured building products or HVAC applications is considered a strong asset
- Substantial experience in managing Plant Managers across EMEA
- Technical Skills
- Multi-site manufacturing operations leadership across EMEA
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement methodologies
- Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) / Integrated Business Planning (IBP)
- Supply chain optimisation, demand planning, and inventory management
- ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced planning tools
- Data analytics, KPI development, and performance management systems
- Plant layout design, material flow optimisation, and 5S implementation
- Quality systems, root cause analysis (5 Whys, DMAIC), and compliance frameworks
- Budgeting, cost control, and financial acumen within operations
- Digital transformation and automation in a manufacturing environment
