Position: Temporary Payroll Specialist
Location: Princess Yachts
Are you a payroll professional ready to step into a fast-paced, rewarding role with one of the world’s leading luxury yacht manufacturers? At Princess Yachts, we’re recruiting for a Temporary Payroll Specialist to join our dedicated People, Talent & Culture (PTC) team for a 3-month period.
In this pivotal position, the Payroll Specialist will process payroll for our workforce of 2,500 employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and top-tier service. The post holder will also play a key role in overseeing pensions, employee benefits, statutory reporting, and continuous process improvement—supporting both weekly and monthly payroll operations.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process payroll and respond to employee queries
- Manage the payroll weekly and monthly reporting obligations
- Manage pension contributions and payroll-related benefits
- Handle starters, leavers, and maintain employee records
- Completion of statutory and legal forms
- Work with external agencies including HMRC, local authorities, and unions
- Support internal audits and contribute to payroll-related projects
- Drive efficiencies and improve payroll processes
- Be a key partner to the wider People team in delivering improvement initiatives
- Liaise with solicitors regarding wage details of employees involved in accidents
- Crystal Reports management
- Manage payroll benefit-in-kind setup, including managing the healthcare scheme, and life assurance policy
- Manage monthly employee benefits and salary sacrifice schemes
- Manage reports required in relation to pension obligations
Acting as an Ambassador for Princess Yachts, operating with integrity and drive appropriate to the Company’s values, to promote Princess as a market leader.

Person Specification
- Experience in payroll, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Payroll qualifications and project/change management experience are desirable
- Strong IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Proactive, detail-oriented and self-motivated
- Strong interpersonal skills; accuracy, communication, effective time management and analytical skills are essential
- Attention to accuracy and detail
- Knowledge of Crystal Reports and payroll/pension legislation is a plus
