However, we don’t take our success for granted and are constantly challenging ourselves to do better.

As we look ahead with our 2030 plans, our vision remains the same – placing people at the heart of everything we do. In these times of uncertainty and change, our plans empower us to adapt and evolve while staying true to our long-term vision – meeting the ever-growing demand for our expertise and compassion.

Our I CARE values – Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence guide everything we do, and we’d expect that you’d embrace and live up to them.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and commercially astute financial leader to guide our finance, digital, technology, data, and resource teams.

Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the Hospice’s long-term financial sustainability, driving digital innovation and transformation, and strengthening business assurance and governance. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will work closely with the Chief Executive, Board, Committees, cross-organisational colleagues, key stakeholders, and strategic partners. Your collaborative approach and strategic insight will make a meaningful and measurable impact and difference on the overall leadership and success of the Hospice.

About You

  • An experienced senior financial leader, with a proven track record to motivate, inspire and build empowered teams.
  • A commercially astute and entrepreneurial mindset, with excellent judgement and interpersonal skills to both challenge and review ideas with solutions and innovation to achieve our goals.
  • Experience of supporting organisations to develop, adopt and sustain improved working practices for efficiency, effectiveness and robust risk management.
  • Experience of producing high quality reporting and analysis in support of Board-level strategy and decision-making.
  • An understanding and experience of shaping and influencing teams towards a continuous improvement practice and culture.
  • Ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team.

Our Benefits

As well as our competitive salary package and the opportunity of joining an organisation where you will be able to make a difference for our patients and their families, we also offer a range of great benefits, which include:

  • 27 days’ annual leave, plus recognised public holidays – rising to 29 days after 5 years’ service and 33 days after 10 years’ service (pro rata for part time)
  • Training support and development opportunities
  • Free onsite parking
  • Subsidised meals at onsite canteen
  • Employee Assistance Programme – promoting staff wellbeing
  • Access to blue light card discount
  • Access to Pension Scheme
  • In-house laundry of uniforms, plus excellent changing facilities (with showers)
  • Wellbeing – We provide a programme of activities, opportunities and guidance to inspire and support our employees to live a healthy life, at home and at work

92% of our colleagues say they feel they’re making a real and valuable difference to the lives of the individuals – and their families and friends – we all care for. Find more meaning from your work and be the difference at moments that really matter.
