Make a real difference to cardiac care for our local population
This is a high‑impact leadership role at the heart of one of the Trust’s key clinical services. As Service Manager for Cardiology, you will drive the operational performance and future development of cardiology services at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. Working closely with the Clinical Lead, Matron, senior clinicians and the General Manager, you will ensure services are safe, efficient and truly patient‑centred across the entire cardiology pathway, from outpatients and diagnostics through to interventional care, inpatient flow and community interfaces.
You will be a visible and credible leader, working at the heart of the cardiology service and building strong, trusted relationships with clinicians and senior leaders. Acting as the bridge between clinical and operational teams, you will provide clear direction, maintain grip on performance and keep the service focused on delivering excellent patient outcomes.
Using data, insight and sound judgement, you will anticipate challenges, drive improvement and make confident decisions in a complex and fast‑moving environment. You will play a central role in shaping the future of cardiology services, leading workforce and medical job planning, supporting teams through change and contributing to service transformation and system‑wide collaboration to improve access, reduce variation and deliver sustainable care.
The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) is proud to care for the communities of West Essex, delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality services. We are part of the Neighbourhood Wave—a national programme that’s changing how care is delivered by focusing on prevention, early support, and more joined‑up services across health, social care, and the voluntary sector.
This means we’re working more closely with local partners to bring care closer to home and support people to live healthier, more independent lives.
We’re a supportive and inclusive organisation that values its people. We offer development opportunities, flexible working, and a strong focus on wellbeing. As a Disability Confident and equal opportunities employer, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences.
