We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated and dedicated Sister/ Charge Nurse, with extensive experience preferably within an Outpatient setting who has proven ability and leadership to support a Team. To be successful in this role you must demonstrate strong clinical and operational leadership, to be responsible for the safe, effective and patient centred care within a busy Outpatients environment.
You must be flexible to work over three sites: The Princess Alexandra, Harlow, St Margaret's Epping, Herts and Essex, Bishops Stortford and to support in the Clinical Diagnostic Unit (CDC) based in Epping. You must have the ability to coordinate clinics, manage patient pathways and oversee service delivery, whilst supporting a Team to maintain high standards of care and to provide an excellent patient experience. You will also support the Outpatient Nurse Manager in the provision of an effective outpatient nursing service over seven days, deputising in her absence to optimise clinic capacity and responsiveness to service escalations.
As a Sister/Charge Nurse in the department, you will support the Team in the delivery of high quality care to more than 300,000 patients per year. You will actively be supported in your personal development and progression. We would warmly encourage informal visits and would be happy to show you around.
Main duties of the job:- To work as a member of the outpatient Team, supporting them in the delivery of high quality care.
- To provide flexibility to cover over three sites on a rotational basis or as required to cover service provision over 7 days, including the CDC.
- Participation in Team meetings and proactive in identifying and managing Service improvements.
- Effective communicator with the ability to build positive working relationships with patients, colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Committed to supporting staff development through mentorship, supervision and performance management, to foster a culture of continuous learning and professional excellence.
- Ability to manage change in compliance with Trust policies and governance.
- Role model to both junior staff and students supporting their professional development.
- Ability to support Nurse Manager in the daily running of clinics by being responsive to operational pressures, ensuring clinic capacity and staffing levels are reviewed to support escalations.
