Role Description Shift pattern: 4 on 4 off shift pattern - 12hr days and nights.

Key responsibilities:

  • Safely maintaining and operating the effluent treatment plant, steam raising plant and ensuring an unfettered supply of other site utilities to the manufacturing environment, ensuring the site operates within its environmental consent limits.
  • Other duties regarding the maintenance of general building services and fabric, yard areas and the Energy Centre, and effluent treatment plant.
  • Timely response to plant breakdowns and planned maintenance, all owned until complete.
  • All work formally recorded as such and handed over to oncoming team.
  • Working on shifts, rotating nights and days, reporting to the Site Services Engineering Manager.
  • Proactively managing asset care to ensure that equipment performance is optimised.
  • Planning and executing all asset care activity on shift.
  • Contributing to the asset care element of the Engineering function on shift to help the site achieve optimal operational efficiency at lowest cost through the delivery of targets against the strategic objectives of the Group Supply function: Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, People.
  • Working closely with the Shift Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality leaders and peer groups and Site Asset care Planner to support the delivery of an agreed Group Asset Care Strategy for the site.
  • Ensuring proactive response to maintenance and breakdowns on site ensuring continuity of production and services.
  • Carrying out maintenance activities, ensuring the manufacturing team achieve maximum compliance to the production plan, by minimising engineering downtime.
  • Moving the maintenance strategy from a firefighting mentality to a proactive approach.
  • Identifying the root cause, recording actions taken to correct fault and updating Planned Maintenance system.
  • Openly sharing knowledge within team to increase the department flexibility.
  • Improving the performance and efficiency of the existing plant through continuous improvement techniques.
  • Communicating effectively and confidently to all levels of colleagues within Princes and maintaining professional communication with clients, suppliers, contractors and customers outside the business.
  • Ensuring both verbal and written shift handovers are carried effectively.
  • Maintaining product Food Safety, Legality, Integrity, Authenticity and Quality standards by ensuring all associated policies and procedures are adhered to.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of relevant CI techniques
  • Working with CMMS – Preferably SAP
