Role Description
Princes Liverpool is looking for a Power BI Developer to join the business at our Head Office in the Royal Liver Building in Liverpool.
Job Purpose
You will be instrumental in enhancing the usability, accessibility, and overall user satisfaction of our digital solutions.
Your responsibilities will span across designing intuitive user interfaces, optimizing user journeys, and leveraging Microsoft Power Platform tools to create efficient and scalable business tools.
You will need to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, functional managers and data engineers, to create user-centric experiences and streamline business processes.

This is a Monday - Friday 08.45 - 17.00 position with Fridays from home.

- User Experience (UX): have a strong understanding of how people interact with tools and data and translate that into how best to design new tools.
This includes understanding UX techniques and approaches to maximise the effectiveness of digital tools built for the business.
- Collaboration skills: The ability to work with users from a wide range of backgrounds to understand their needs and translate that into a visual prototype.
Expectation management is key through understanding the constraints of available tools and the ability to deliver on scoped designs.
- Technical skills: have experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate), as well as prototyping tools such as Figma.
- Business acumen: have an understanding of the business and its strategic goals.
Able to understand the key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics that are important to the business and be able to build calculations and visualizations to measure progress towards those goals.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving: must be able to think critically and design solutions that address key business problems.
- Attention to detail: have a keen eye for detail and be able to identify anomalies and inconsistencies in data.
They should be able to ensure that data is accurate and free from errors before using it to make decisions.

- Principal Responsibilities
- Design and create user interfaces, wireframes, and prototypes that prioritize user experience and align with business objectives.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions to gather insights for iterative design improvements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and refine user personas, ensuring designs cater to diverse user needs.
- Utilize Microsoft Power Platform components, including Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate, to design and develop scalable business applications.
- Customize and extend functionality within Microsoft Power Apps to meet specific business requirements.
- Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for data visualization and insights.
- Implement automated workflows using Power Automate to streamline business processes and enhance efficiency.
- Communicate design concepts and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide guidance on best practices for user interface design and Microsoft Power Platform utilization.
- Role Requirements
- Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven experience as a UX Designer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful UX projects.
- Proficiency in using design tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, or Figma.
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Power Platform components (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
- Strong understanding of user‑centered design principles, usability, and accessibility standards.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to translate business requirements into user‑centric design solutions.
- Solid communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Proficiency in SQL or other data query languages/tools (e. g. Alteryx) is a plus.
- Familiarity with front‑end development technologies (HTML, CSS, Java Script) is a plus.
- Experience with cloud technologies and services (e. g., Microsoft Azure, Snowflake) is a plus
- Experience with SAP solutions such as SAP BW, SAP ECC or SAP Datasphere is a plus.
