Teacher of Textile &/or Food (Maternity Cover)
Fixed term 1 year, full time or part time (0.6) considered.
Salary Range: Teacher Main/Upper Pay Scale £19,749 – £30,628 for part time (full time equivalent £32,916 – £51,048). Unqualified pay range £22,601 – £35,259.
Start date – September 2026. Closing Date for applications: Friday 7th August 2026 at 12 noon.
Responsibilities
Teach students of all abilities and ages in Textiles and/or Food.
Be highly organised, communicate effectively and manage time efficiently.
Actively participate in the school's continuous improvement efforts and contribute to raising standards and outcomes for young people.
Qualifications
- UK Honours degree or equivalent (2:2 or higher) in Maths or a related field, or very strong subject knowledge if not a related degree.
- GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Resilience and strong organisational skills to balance classroom teaching with academic study.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or apprenticeship route required; for apprenticeship, enrol in Level 6 Teacher Apprenticeship and obtain QTS while in the role.
Other Considerations
Suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and apprenticeship candidates (12‑month duration). The role offers an "earn‑while‑you‑learn" path through the Level 6 Teacher Apprenticeship with a reduced teaching timetable (maximum 80%).
