Role Description
- Manages, audits and supports the correct use of the MES system through appropriate master data housekeeping, auditing, change coordination, coaching, training content development and training delivery.
- Validates and approves the set-up of manufacturing master data for new products through the use of the Maexstro system.
- Manages the failure of messages within the WEI interface to ensure master data is corrected and messages are processed and orders updated accordingly.
- Smooth operation of the MES system in conjunction with manufacturing processes including manufacturing master data is a key aspect of ensuring the plant leverages the benefits of MES to improve on critical KPI’s and as such improve the overall performance.
- This role has responsibility for ensuring the MES solution meets this criteria.
- To analyse potential problems and to take appropriate action to remedy any shortfall in performance, seeing actions through to completion/implementation.
- To ensure correct processes are followed using the MES system.
- Liaising with operations teams to ensure system is used to best effect and recognizing and supporting requirements for training and coaching to meet correct system usage.
- Liaise with internal and external MES support teams in connection with the maintenance and support of the MES system.
- Builds positive relationships with good morale and cooperation within other areas of the business.
- Represent the Manufacturing team in the approval of critical master data components associated with the correct use of the MES system.
- Educate a wider audience on the accuracy and nature of the master data.
- Liaises with Operations, IT and External parties to define, design, test and implement MES application improvements and changes.
- Consistently achieves agreed targets and KPIs i.e. Failed messages from / to SAP, clearance of MES Inventory following production and at end of week.
- Reconcile and control inventory in production supply areas.
- The person will be expected to be knowledgeable in all functional areas of MES operations for manufacturing and demonstrate the behaviours and skills outlined in the competency matrix.
Role Requirements
- Experience within a food-processing environment and understanding of hygiene standards is essential.
- Experience and understanding of the master data that controls the behaviour of the MES application.
- Experience in operating the MES application end to end covering and deep understanding of all normal functions and how the system relates to SAP.
- Experience of using Maextro to validate and approve new product launches from a manufacturing master data perspective.
- Experience of reviewing failed messages within WEI and processing these through to resolution.
- Experience of working with SAP manufacturing master data such as BOMS and Routings.
- Competent numeracy/literacy skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in influencing colleagues to achieve desired outcomes.
