Role Description
Reports To: Site Engineering Manager
Job Summary: Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Manager will lead the Capri-Sun engineering team to ensure high levels of equipment reliability and performance in a dynamic soft drinks production environment. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, this role will drive strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and promote a culture of innovation within the maintenance department.
Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance technicians and engineers. Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance reviews and skills assessments to identify training and development needs.
- Maintenance Operations: Oversee all maintenance activities of production, utility, and facility equipment to ensure optimal performance. Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Use Condition Based Monitoring as one of the predictive tools. Manage maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality and safety.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and lead initiatives to improve maintenance processes and equipment reliability. Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to analyze downtime data and develop solutions that minimize disruptions. Promote and lead Root Cause Analysis for major problem solving. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain, to enhance efficiencies.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a long-term maintenance strategy aligned with organizational goals. Work with senior management to identify and implement new technologies and systems that improve maintenance operations.
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Promote a safe working environment by conducting regular safety audits and training sessions.
- Vendor and Supplier Management: Manage relationships with equipment suppliers and service providers. Negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure optimal terms and service levels.
To maintain product Food Safety, Legality, Integrity, Authenticity and Quality standards by ensuring all associated policies and procedures are adhered to.
Role Requirements
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a maintenance management role within the food and beverage industry, preferably in soft drinks.
- Time served Engineer with Engineering qualifications
- Strong knowledge of maintenance principles, methods, and best practices.
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
