Key Responsibilities include:
- Ensure the highest quality of provision at all times.

Safeguarding & Wellbeing
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children in line with statutory guidance and school policies.
- Monitor child protection concerns and liaise closely with external agencies as needed; assist in gathering information for professional meetings.
- Create and maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment.
- Manage and administer medication in accordance with school policies.
- Support children's personal care, including nappy changing, toileting, and related welfare duties.
Curriculum & Learning
- Plan, implement, and evaluate a high-quality curriculum following the EYFS framework.
- Foster child-led, curiosity-driven learning through structured play and exploration.
- Monitor and assess children's progress to meet their developmental needs.
- Support the settling-in of new children and smooth transitions for those moving on to school.
- Promote inclusive practices for children with SEND, diverse needs, or EAL.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour by managing conflicts promptly and supporting age-appropriate behaviour development.
- Ensure the Preschool environment is prepared, age-appropriate, and conducive to play and learning.
- Regularly update displays to reflect current themes and seasons.
- Encourage children to serve their own food and promote healthy, sociable eating habits.
- Maintain an attractive, stimulating, and reassuring indoor and outdoor environment.
- Assist with supervision during outdoor play and on trips or visits.
Parents & Carers
- Welcome parents, children, and visitors warmly.
- Support tours for prospective parents.
- Build strong partnerships with parents/carers, recognizing them as their children's primary educators, and encourage their involvement.
- Continuously seek ways to enhance parent communication and engagement.
- Attend parent meetings and open days as required.
- Ensure parents understand security procedures for drop-off and collection.
- Provide regular feedback about children's Preschool experiences.
- Be sensitive to home circumstances that may affect children's behaviour or mood.
- Respect and support cultural, religious, ethical, or personal preferences of families.
- Maintain an accurate parent and carer register during drop-off and collection.
Communication & Record Keeping
- Use school systems to manage daily records, attendance, observations, and family communications.
- Keep clear, up-to-date records of children's learning, development, and safeguarding.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and reviewing SEND plans, pupil profiles, and healthcare programmes, including intimate care where relevant.
- Foster strong relationships with parents/carers through updates, meetings, and workshops.
- Communicate effectively with school and Preschool staff via email, minutes, newsletters, and notices.
Health & Safety
- Comply with health and safety legislation and maintain high standards of hygiene and safety.
- Complete all required health and safety training promptly.
- Keep the Preschool tidy and organized to optimize time and maintain housekeeping standards.
- Administer first aid when necessary, documenting incidents via CPOMS (Paediatric first aid certification required).
- Ensure resources, toys, and equipment are well maintained, cleaned regularly, stored correctly, and any damage reported.
- Keep all displays tidy, appropriate, and aligned with Preschool standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of rooms, toilets, and corridors daily.
- Clean up promptly after messy play activities.
- Label all relevant items clearly.
Professional Development
- Participate in regular performance reviews and ongoing professional development relevant to the role.
- Undertake any other duties as directed by the Headteacher.
