Prince's Mead is a happy and thriving co-educational IAPS day preparatory school in Hampshire. Set on a beautiful site near the City of Winchester, the school is housed in an impressive Grade II listed Georgian manor house with spectacular views over the Itchen Valley. The school is looking to recruit a Head of Nursery to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the setting, deliver exceptional Early Years education, and contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the Nursery, including expansion plans and changes to age range.

The Head of Nursery will work closely with the Head of Pre-Prep and Early Years and other Heads of Department, helping to develop other Nursery Practitioners. The role requires a warm and nurturing professional who adores children, is a confident leader and team-player with a can-do attitude, highly organised, and able to inspire confidence in parents and carers.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operation of the Nursery setting.
  • Deliver exceptional Early Years education.
  • Play a pivotal role in the ongoing development and growth in roll and expansion of the Nursery.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Pre-Prep and Early Years and other Heads of Department.
  • Support and develop Nursery Practitioners to maintain outstanding standards of care and education.
  • Support transition and access to additional facilities (e.g., Forest School, play areas) as applicable to the Nursery provision.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Warm, nurturing, and child-centred approach to early years education.
  • Confident leader, effective team player, with strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to creating an exceptional Nursery environment and to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Experience in early years leadership or management preferred.
