Role Description
This is a Day Shift role working Monday – Friday
Role: Focus Improvement Engineer for our Ingredients Process Centre
As an Engineering Technician for a large soft drinks company, you will primarily be responsible for supporting the ingredients processing centre to produce syrup for the manufacture of dilute squash and carbonated products. Here’s a detailed job description:
- System Monitoring and Maintenance: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the syrup manufacturing process. This includes monitoring equipment performance, conducting regular maintenance and troubleshooting, and ensuring machinery and systems operate efficiently.
- Quality Control and Assurance: Ensure the quality of the syrup produced meets the company’s standards and regulations. This involves regular testing of the syrup, adjusting the process as necessary, and maintaining detailed records.
- Process Improvement: Work with the engineering team to develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, following protocols for handling ingredients, and maintaining clean and organized work areas.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments such as production, quality control, and supply chain to ensure smooth operation and timely production.
- Documentation: Record all operations and maintenance activities for future reference and for creating reports using our CMMS (SAP).
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.
- Equipment Calibration: Regularly calibrate equipment to ensure it is performing optimally and accurately.
- Training: Train department staff in basic maintenance and understanding of equipment in syrup production process.
- To maintain product Food Safety, Legality, Integrity, Authenticity and Quality standards by ensuring all associated policies and procedures are adhered to.
Role Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Engineering recognised qualification. Controls, PLC and Instrumentation experience is desirable.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the manufacturing or production industry.
- Strong knowledge of root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in the use of data analysis tools and software.
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
- Prior experience in a similar role, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, quality control processes, and equipment maintenance is also important.
