Role Description
The person will form part of a team responsible for the delivery of planned production through the production/packing line. The key challenges faced will be to ensure the materials supply, changeovers, and organization of labour on the line (breaks etc.), do not impact on overall line performance (OEE) or (RFT) and any spare capacity is utilized as required. Essential will be the ability to analyse potential problems and to take appropriate action to remedy any shortfall in performance through SIC. The person will need to be self-motivated and require little supervision; teamwork is therefore essential for success within a fully integrated manufacturing team. The person will be required to highlight and share with their peer group best practice and key learnings to ensure optimum performance across a shift system. At Multiskilled Grade, the person will be expected to be able to carry out 4 or more functional areas across Site. The jobholder can also demonstrate the behaviours and skills outlined in the competency matrix. Accountabilities/Competencies to be demonstrated in line with site competency matrix (see associated document). - Using and adhering to company processes / systems to deliver, operate and monitor key equipment.
- Optimizes equipment performance to meet and exceed key performance indicators in the areas of Safety, Food, Product & Process Safety, Quality, OEE, Cost, Right First Time and Service. Initiates corrective actions where required standards are not being met.
- Carries out routine condition monitoring and asset care of line equipment.
- Checks components/ products against works order instructions, visual inspections, Autonomous Maintenance
- Monitors, records and ensures correct disposal of waste.
- Ensuring the cleaning of lines to a set standard is achieved.
- Basic engineering tasks after machine specific training (Process & format changes, changeovers, cup changes, slat band removal / replacement)
- Takes the lead in continuous improvement activities and problem solving to improve performance.
- Checks and records information relevant to batch documentation and Process parameters
- Liaises with internal suppliers over material problems and reports on quality issues (e.g., raise a QNC)
- Carries out routine equipment inspections and audits and records appropriate information.
- Carries out Operator PM tasks, from engineering schedule.
- Checks, fault finds, and problem solves equipment.
- Demonstrates a good understanding of what the main causes of downtime for shift and department and can explain the corrective action taken to resolve the issue and can communicate effectively at shift handover.
- Identifies GMP and 5S improvement opportunities in area and department and owns/implements actions to improve.
- Actively contributes to the PMS and seeks out opportunities for improvements and adherence to the PMS in the department/site.
- Flexibility to be moved/trained across the site and to utilise skills in other departments.
