The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 £ per year.

Working on shifts, reporting to the Site Services Manager, this role is part of a team that will proactively manage Asset Care to ensure equipment performance is maximised and optimised. The role makes a positive contribution to planning and executing all Asset Care activity on shift, scheduling planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns and undertaking timely root cause analysis and corrective action. It plays a proactive role in developing Autonomous Maintenance within operations as part of the wider engineering team, operating within Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and site policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety, Quality, Hygiene: Undertake duties responsibly, giving due consideration to Safety, Environmental & Quality procedures, which are part of the Integrated Management System. Ensure work undertaken conforms to legislative requirements. Embrace a culture of safe behaviour and contractor health and safety within the production and engineering areas.
  • Asset Management: Provide proactive, fast and effective response to all breakdowns across the shift. Execute planned asset care activities as directed from the Asset Care team. Support development of efficient and effective asset care programs to improve equipment reliability and availability across the site.
  • Training and Development: Support the training and development of Autonomous maintenance on shift.
  • Continuous Improvement: Understand working practices associated with CI, proactively using 5S, GMP, RCA and other continuous improvement tools to identify areas for improvement and optimise productive capability of the plant.
  • Manage/Develop People: Within the Group standard Training Needs analysis framework (MEOSI), look to develop own skills for the betterment of the shift.
  • Technical Leadership: Support the Engineering Shift Leader as the first point of Engineering support for the wider shift.
  • Communication: Work as part of a team with shift peers to realise objective‑based performance and drive the site forward on its improvement targets.

Experience Required:

  • HNC or equivalent in an Electrical or multi‑skilled engineering discipline, hands‑on experience with a demonstrable track record of success.
  • PLC fault‑finding and programming – Siemens preferable.
  • Demonstrable track record of achieving results / managing change.
  • Strong operational grounding within a complex fast‑moving manufacturing environment.
  • Good working knowledge of operating systems such as SAP, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
