Role Description
Princes Wisbech are recruiting for a Shift Coordinator to join the business on a 4/4 off Days Shift Pattern. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a leading FMCG business at a point of growth. Wisbech is home to our food production site in Cambridgeshire where we produce canned products including baked beans, soups, pulses, pasta and sauces including the well‑known household brand Crosse & Blackwell.
Job Purpose
Lead and support the team in ensuring maximum utilisation of resources and equipment to achieve efficient production of Right First‑Time products. Deputise for Manufacturing Manager as required, whilst maintaining company quality, safety and environmental frameworks and developing a team‑working and continuous improvement culture.

Principal Responsibilities
Health & Safety & Environment
- Ensure all staff are aware of hazards in the workplace.
- Maintain risk assessments and SOPs.
- Understand risk assessment content to monitor recommendations.
- Resolve unsafe acts and conditions.
- Understand health & safety responsibilities per company guidelines.
- Participate in safety observation tours.
- Conduct health and safety audits.
- Encourage near‑miss reporting and manage forms.
- Promote departmental FAST team.
- Conduct accident/incident investigations.
People Management & Development
- Complete appraisals (EDR / PDR).
- Monitor progress against targets and give feedback.
- Carry out fair investigations.
- Conduct disciplinary notices and manage attendance.
- Use SAP to manage working time.
- Plan labour to meet production/logistics demands.
- Train and develop team.
- Set targets and standards, monitor progress.
Production / Logistics
- Use authorised SOPs to standardise tasks.
- Deliver KPIs, ensuring alignment to business objectives.
- Minimise costs and control overheads.
- Operate per manufacturing/logistics plan.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead improvement teams and projects.
- Track effectiveness and report progress.
- Support equipment/material trials.
- Gather data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Perform root cause analysis.

- Implement breakdown improvement actions.
- Work with engineering on maintenance programme.
