Princes Long Sutton are recruiting for a Site Training Lead to join our Training Team and work out of Long Sutton.
Role Purpose
Working as part of the UK Operations training team, the role leads the end‑to‑end site training experience—covering induction (Day 1 to 30/60/90), operational skills development and compliance training governance. The postholder maintains an accurate training matrix, partners with people managers and site SLT to ensure statutory and mandatory requirements are met and drives a consistent ‘One Team’ gold standard across the Princes estate.
Working Hours
Monday – Friday 08.45 – 17.00. Flexibility may be required to support colleagues who work evening shifts.

Key Role Focus / Overview
Induction & Operational Training Delivery
- Plan, coordinate and deliver a blended induction journey (Day 1‑30‑60‑90) that is welcoming, structured and measurable.
- Accountable for creating and maintaining site and group document‑controlled training resources, SOPs/work instructions and on‑the‑job training plans in partnership with K.ART trainers and people managers.
- Coach and assess colleagues on critical operational tasks, verifying competence through observed practice and knowledge checks.
- Deliver the K.ART (internal TTT) programme and ensure effective knowledge acquisition, retention and transfer.
- Utilise 1‑3‑1 methodology to advise people managers regarding training needs analysis.
Training Governance & Compliance
- Own the site training matrix (statutory, mandatory and role‑specific); ensure accuracy, coverage and timely refreshers.
- Integrate digital LMS system (POKA) requiring ownership and coordination of rollout for all training functionality at the site.
- Coordinate H&S, technical/food safety, environmental and compliance training to meet legal, customer and certification requirements.
- Ensure training content and delivery align to company policies, Princes values and the Princes FMS.
- Deliver and support initiatives to drive colleague development at site (internal MYS and external ILM).
- Safeguard training data integrity and confidentiality in line with GDPR and company policy.
Records, Reporting & Audit Readiness
- Maintain methodical digital/paper training records; ensure evidence is easily retrievable for audits.
- Produce weekly/monthly KPI reports (e.g., completion %, time‑to‑competence, overdue refreshers, evaluation scores) and flag site risks.
- Lead training presentation for both internal and external audits by preparing documentation, facilitating interviews/traceability.
- Own any related NCR actions as a result of audits.
Stakeholder Partnership
- Collaborate with operations, HSE, technical/quality, engineering and HR to prioritise training needs and align capacity to production plans.
- Communicate training plans, calendars and changes to stakeholders; manage bookings, rooms, materials and external provider coordination.
- Support and coach colleagues’ continuous professional development and specific learning requirements.
Continuous Improvement & Systems
- Use learner feedback and the four levels of evaluation (reaction, learning, behaviour, results) to improve impact.
- Apply Lean/CI problem‑solving tools to simplify processes, reduce waste and improve right‑first‑time competence alongside Princes 2030 green goals.
- Leverage LMS/SharePoint and site systems to automate reminders, dashboards and version control; lead the paperless implementation of digital learning systems.

Responsibilities & Qualifications Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Proven experience delivering engaging, blended operational training (classroom, on‑the‑job, digital).
- Strong presentation, facilitation and coaching skills with clear written and verbal communication.
- Highly organised with excellent planning, prioritisation and time management; comfortable in an FMCG environment.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint/LMS).
- Working knowledge of H&S and compliance frameworks relevant to a manufacturing/FMCG environment (or willingness to learn).
- Understanding of FMCG audit expectations (or willingness to learn).
- Experience with the four levels of training measurements.
- Ability to respond flexibly to a constantly changing environment.
