Role Description

Job Purpose: In conjunction with Production, Planning and Third Party Distribution and storage, ensure the effective and accurate movement and storage of finished goods and raw materials. Achieving daily and weekly KPIs on safety, stock levels, at the budgeted PPC.

The role is based at the Bradford site and is not a hybrid role. The primary objective is to support the Bradford site vision, to be the home of operational excellence and the customer’s first choice soft drinks manufacturer. The role also supports the logistics function in the Glasgow canning site.

Role Requirements

Principal Responsibilities

  • Plan and organise the deployment of resources and scheduling of work to meet agreed production plans, ensuring the most cost effective methods are fully utilised.
  • Manage team in line with site QCDSP targets and KPI’s, ensuring industry laws and regulations and company policies are being adhered to.
  • Act as the liaison between the factory and the 3rd party finished goods warehouse.
  • Ensure all inventory counts for raw materials and packaging are accurate and timely, supporting the investigation of any discrepancies.
  • Manage the euro-conveyor output, minimising down time through a programme of AM and dedicated PM processes through the engineering team.
  • Optimise raw material stock holding, to minimise 3rd party storage, working with the scheduling and purchasing teams.
  • Contribute to the preparation of annual plans and budgets for the site, and capital projects for the logistics department and site.
  • Control the Warehouse to ensure established standards of quality and productive output are achieved within budgeted cost.
  • Recruit, monitor, train and develop the Warehouse team to develop the skill base within the department to ensure production and quality targets are met.
  • Manage and develop personnel in accordance with HR policies and procedures to maximise job performance and their potential.
  • Liaise with suppliers, third party distributors and customers both internally and externally to optimise profitability, efficiency and quality for all involved.
  • Implement a programme of continuous improvement within all Warehouse areas to constantly drive quality improvement and cost reduction.
  • Ensure information is communicated to the Warehouse team.

General Responsibilities

  • Ensuring availability of all raw materials and packaging on site to meet the daily/weekly requirements
  • Understanding and implementation of lean manufacturing work practices including 5S, AM and problem solving (including root cause analysis), to drive continuous improvement activity throughout the site
  • Have a detailed understanding of the Princes Manufacturing System (PMS) and the Site Must Win Battle Plans
  • Ensure all training for direct reports is documented using the appropriate skills matrix
  • Exercise reasonable skill and care for health and safety of yourself and others; do not interfere with safety provisions
  • Demonstrate behaviours aligned with site values and help improve Quality, Safety & Environmental culture
  • Support the business in delivering ethical trading and human rights vision
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to maximise opportunities to communicate Princes’ ethical trade and human rights approach

  • Experience of operating within a Warehouse/Distribution environment
  • PC Skills including basic knowledge of SAP
  • Experience of leading a team
  • Experience of dealing with HR/people issues (discipline, grievances, performance management, etc.)
