Role Description
Princes Cardiff is recruiting for a Yard Person to join our Centre of Juice Excellence in Cardiff.
Located on Portmanmoor road with on-site parking, this £60 million drinks manufacturing facility is in a fantastic location with local transport links into the city centre.
The site is a highly automated production facility which has revolutionised processing and packaging across the juice market.
This person will operate as part of the Warehouse team and will maintain close collaboration with the Ingredient Processing Team (IPC).
Performance is measured against individual responsibilities and team/site Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
They will be responsible for Yard management and working closely with all departments in line with site standards.
This is a fantastic position for someone with existing warehouse/yard experience looking to progress within one of the UK's leading FMCG businesses.

- Working Hours
This is a Monday - Friday days based position on site. Times to be discussed at interview but there will be no unsociable hours the shifts will be days based.

- Job Purpose
To safely and efficiently process incoming raw materials (including drums, aromas/flavourings, chemicals, and powders), maintain accurate stock records, and support inventory control through appropriate daily cycle counts and weekly stock counts.
The role involves handling, labelling, and preparing concentrate drums for uplift in line with the Production Plan.
The Yard Person is responsible for opening and preparing drums safely and efficiently using a drum grabber, forklift truck (FLT), and other relevant equipment, while ensuring raw material quality standards are met.
The role also includes loading and unloading at Unit 71 and the South Yard, processing waste materials, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment in line with site standards.

- Quality
- Achieve Right First Time (RFT) targets.
- Maintain Yard and Unit 71 in line with 5S standards and adhere to a “clean as you go” policy.
- Follow company personal hygiene standards at all times.
- Understand the impact of activities on product quality, the environment, and end users (e. g. waste, effluent, customer complaints).
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve operational and quality objectives.
- Complete all documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor and maintain raw material quality standards.

- Support achievement of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and wider business targets.
- Complete all assigned tasks in line with the production schedule.

- Work safely at all times, adhering to site procedures and safe systems of work.
- Understand environmental responsibilities and actively minimise impact.
- Wear and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with site requirements.

- Contribute to cost control by maintaining good attendance and timekeeping (Pence Per Case awareness).

- Role Requirements
- Valid and up-to-date Forklift Truck (FLT) licence appropriate to site equipment.
- Experience completing routine operational checks and maintaining accurate records.
