Princes Cardiff are recruiting for a Technical Administrator to join our Cardiff team. Our Cardiff site is a centre of excellence for ambient, chilled and mini fruit juice. Here we produce products in a wide range of formats for both our Princes brand and for customer own‑brand contracts. We have recently invested over £60 million in our South Wales facility to future‑prove our operations, to carry on delivering product innovation and to help us to achieve our sustainable environmental targets. Located in Portmanmoor Industrial Estate with free parking, you have excellent transport links to the motorway and City Centre!

We are looking for someone with a strong Administration background or a food or drink related Degree looking to start or grow their Technical career.

Job Purpose

To collate the quality documentation including raw material specifications, quality records, finished product customer complaints and acceptance on site of raw material ingredients based on certificates of analysis. Issue approved documentation to relevant departments. Provide an administrative role for the technical department.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Collate Quality records including key production records so that they are available and easily retrievable.
  • Understand documents required for a traceability exercise and be able to provide them in a timely manner (2hr for receipt & despatch documentation & 4hr for complete traceability with corresponding records).
  • Obtain certificates of analysis from suppliers for all ingredients used on site prior to use in production, check against specification and file as per procedure.
  • Complete sleeve checks against approved pdf.
  • Collate delivery notes (e.g. aromas, dry ingredients, packaging) with delivery check stamp completed for scanning and archiving.
  • Monitor drum intake and communicate manufacturer’s batch details and testing requirements to process department and laboratory.
  • Coordinate site document control on Sharepoint.
  • Support Quality Systems Manager in the creation & update of site recipes & PI sheets.
  • Maintain accurate files for specific product e.g. HALAL & Organic to maintain compliance to the required certification standards.
  • Provide an administrative resource for the Technical department and provide statistical data as required.
  • Member of the internal audit team for completion of GMP & internal audits.

These are the key daily tasks, not a comprehensive list of all tasks undertaken by the job holder. Flexibility is required by the business & this will be agreed with the individual’s line manager. To maintain product Food Safety, Legality, Integrity, Authenticity and Quality standards by ensuring all associated policies and procedures are adhered to.

Working Hours: This is a Monday – Friday 08.45 – 17.00 site-based position. Due to the nature of the position, the successful candidate must be flexible in their working hours to assist with audits and crisis situations.

Essential

  • Administration Experience ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • A desire to work within the Technical sector
  • Must be able to demonstrate experience of roles involving attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills to perform basic calculations
  • Must have good time management
  • Possess sound verbal and written communication skills which are essential for effectively dealing with customers, internal departments and suppliers.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Be competent in all of the major computer packages i.e.: Microsoft office, as well as the ability to accurately record data and produce required reports
  • Willingness to undergo training, and commitment to personal professional development.
  • Be flexible in their working hours to assist with audits and crisis situations

Desirable Experience

  • Food/Drink Manufacturing experience
  • Ideally experience in a role that relates to maintaining legal traceability records, including filing and archiving systems (alphabetical and numerical systems).
  • Experience in checking records.
  • Experience of working within a Technical Department involving the traceability of products
  • Previous experience of continuous improvement
  • Experience of internal auditing
  • Experience of accreditation and customer standards
  • Degree in Technical related field
