Role DescriptionTo maintain accurate inventory control of raw materials, packaging materials, Product Staging Area (PSA) stock, and finished goods. The role ensures all stock movements and material consumption are accurately recorded in SAP, supporting stock accuracy, traceability, material availability, and efficient warehouse operations.Working closely with Warehouse, Production, Planning, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams, the Stock Controller supports business and customer requirements through effective inventory management and stock control.Reporting StructureThe Stock Controller reports directly to the Warehouse Manager and works closely with the Production, Planning, Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality, and Warehouse Operations teams.The role has no direct line management responsibility but provides operational guidance on stock control, inventory accuracy, stock reconciliations, and material consumption processes. The Stock Controller is expected to challenge discrepancies, exceed inventory risks, and influence best practice across warehouse and production operations to maintain stock integrity.Dimensions

  • Ambient Warehouse: 10,800 pallets
  • Chill Warehouse: 150 pallets
  • Packaging Warehouse: 1,500 pallets
  • Unit 71: Packaging overspill and drum storage
  • Product Staging Areas (PSA): Generic Packaging
  • Distribution: Approximately 40 vehicles per day

Principal Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate stock records in SAP for raw materials, packaging materials, PSA stock, and finished goods.
  • Ensure FIFO/FEFO stock rotation principles are consistently applied.
  • Record and reconcile raw material and packaging consumption against the correct production orders.
  • Investigate stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Process inventory transactions including goods receipts, transfers, adjustments, returns, and production consumptions.
  • Control stock held within the PSA and ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded and reconciled.
  • Liaise with Production, Planning, Procurement, and external storage providers to ensure material and finished goods availability. Coordinate finished goods collections from Culina in line with the production schedule to support chill production requirements and elevate any supply risks promptly.
  • Produce inventory reports covering stock accuracy, stock movements, ageing stock, valuation, and material consumption
  • Coordinate cycle counts, review variances, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Support monthly stock reconciliations and annual stock take activities.
  • Maintain inventory records to meet traceability and audit requirements.
  • Communicate stock issues, risks, and priorities across relevant departments.
  • Support warehouse utilisation improvements and stock control initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, GMP, food safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Act as the main warehouse contact for stock control matters.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects that enhance inventory accuracy, stock visibility, and operational efficiency.
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the Warehouse Manager in line with business needs.
  • To maintain product Food Safety, Legality, Integrity, Authenticity and Quality standards by ensuring all associated policies and procedures are adhered to.

Role Requirements Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Experience in stock control, warehousing, inventory management, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong SAP knowledge and inventory transaction experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with cycle counting and stock reconciliation processes.
  • Understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management principles.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
  • Knowledge of FIFO/FEFO stock rotation principles.
  • Experience within a food manufacturing environment desirable.
  • Health & Safety qualifications desirable.
