Role Description
Princes Bradford is looking for a Built In Quality Leader to join our centre of excellence for fruit squash, home to the Jucee brand and a broad portfolio including cordials, premium high juice, quadruple strength, and standard squash. The Manufacturing - Built In Quality [BIQ] Leader will ensure that the Manufacturing / Operations, production processes, and operational procedures meet and maintain expected standards & requirements, and also function effectively, to meet customer requirements. They will collaborate with site, Technical, Product development, Engineering, and Production teams, in the design and implementation of these systems, processes, and standards across the Bradford site. They will be responsible for the manufacturing elements of the quality management system, and monitor operations adherence to these defined manufacturing processes, and the impact on the quality / safety and integrity of products directly linked to failures, in or adherence to these processes. They will lead investigation in Incidents, process failures or product performance failures. To lead and coordinate root cause analysis, corrective, and preventative actions for manufacturing process failures (intake to dispatch). This role will report directly to the Site Operational Excellence Manager. The role includes two direct reports: Site Trainer; Factory Analyst.

Working Hours
This is a site based role working Monday - Friday 08:45 - 17:00. Due to the nature of manufacturing there may be times where flexibility is needed to meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice manufacturing quality & food safety culture, vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance measures that matter [MTM]
- Establishing strategies to improve process efficiency, the delivery of operational / manufacturing right first time [RFT], and profitability through process review / waste reduction.
- Work proactively with all functions, Leaders, and employees, to maintain a program of continual operations improvement within their areas of responsibility.
- Lead problem solving methodology (Lean multi step), perform operations root cause analysis and resolution.
- Ensure operations / manufacturing processes, deliver on product safety, quality and consistency expectations of customer and brands.
- Provide clear leadership & coaching for the development of a food safety and quality culture within the operations / manufacturing / production environment.
- Develop and conduct controls plans & Failure Mode and Effect Analysis [FMEA].
- Implement all relevant procedures in the Quality Management System [QMS], as they relate to the areas of operational responsibility and accountability.
- Train out and communicate to identify learning opportunities to improve standard working methods.
- Support the Shift teams to develop and maintain an accurate skills matrix.
- Identify skills gaps and prioritise training needs including deployment of Site Trainer to develop the capability of our teams.
- Champion a program for the implementation and sustainment of a continuous improvement and food safety & quality culture, within the sites operations teams.
- Lead regular operations BIQ events with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving food safety & quality culture / built in Right First Time [RFT] and product & process waste as they relate to operations areas of responsibility.
- Produce written reports and make presentations.
- Identify and deploy the necessary skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required.
- Gain a detailed understanding of the Princes Operating System (POS) and maturity matrix, and support in the audit and regular reporting of adherence to key elements of the Operational Excellence Strategy.
- Management of Factory Analyst, responsible for data and reporting across the balanced scorecard (SQCDP).
- Development of MTM to facilitate the successful delivery of the Site Must Win Battle Plan (MWBP).
- Management of Site Trainer, responsible for identifying and prioritising training gaps across manufacturing teams.
- To maintain product Food Safety, Legality, Integrity, Authenticity and Quality standards by ensuring all associated policies and procedures are adhered to.
