We are working with a successful manufacturing business in Wolverhampton who are at an exciting point in their organisational journey. They have a new, exciting opening for Purchasing Manager to join them and play a key role in driving and executing the Procurement strategy across the business. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic and commercially minded procurement professional to make a real impact in a growing business, driving cost optimisation, supplier performance, and sustainable sourcing practices.
As the Purchasing Manager you will be getting involved in:
- Lead and inspire a highâperforming procurement team
- Shape and deliver strategies that drive business success
- Manage the full procurement cycle from sourcing to delivery
- Build strong supplier partnerships to ensure quality and value
- Negotiate contracts and terms while minimising risk
- Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and production to meet technical needs
- Stay ahead of market trends and supply chain risks
- Set and track KPIs to boost performance and accountability
- Champion process improvements and ERP optimisation
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and environmental standards
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Proven procurement leadership experience in manufacturing or distribution as a Purchasing Manager / Procurement Manager / Procurement Lead / Procurement Director / Supply Chain Manager / Supply Chain Lead / Head of Procurement / Head of Supply Chain
- Skilled in sourcing from Far East markets
- Experience in managing and leading Procurement teams
- Strong negotiator with solid contract management expertise
- Confident working crossâfunctionally with technical and operational teams
- Proficient in ERP/MRP systems for efficient procurement processes
- Experienced in vendor management and performance optimisation
- Track record in developing and delivering procurement strategies
- Excellent relationshipâbuilding with suppliers
- Full UK driving licence required
