Purchasing Assistant in Wolverhampton

Purchasing Assistant Permanent Location: Wolverhampton Salary: up to £30,000 per annum Working hours: Monday – Friday days We are recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Wolverhampton. As the Purchasing Assistant you will support the day-to-day purchasing function, ensuring materials and services are sourced efficiently to meet operational requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-focused individual with purchasing or procurement experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and liaising with suppliers and internal teams. Key Responsibilities Raising and processing purchase orders Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining supplier records Assisting with the sourcing and onboarding of new suppliers Tracking orders to ensure deliveries are received on time Liaising with suppliers to resolve delivery issues and discrepancies Reviewing production schedules and requisitions to anticipate material requirements Ensuring purchased items meet required specifications and cost targets Maintaining accurate purchasing, delivery and audit documentation Updating purchasing databases and records Assisting with stock control activities and stock checks Producing reports and analysis as required Ordering workwear and PPE for employees Providing purchasing cover during periods of holiday and absence Supporting wider administrative activities across the business as required Skills and Experience required: Previous experience within a purchasing, procurement or buying support role
