A well-established logistics business is looking to recruit an experienced Transport Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operation of a busy transport department and lead a small team. You will provide operational support across transport, planning and administration functions, drive continuous improvement initiatives, support business projects and play a key role in developing and coaching team members. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transport professional looking to take the next step in their leadership career.
As the Transport Supervisor you will be responsible for:
Supervising the day-to-day activities of the transport department, including traffic, planning and administration functions
Providing leadership, coaching and development support to members of the transport team
Delivering on-the-job training and guidance, particularly for developing team members
Acting as a key point of contact for the traffic desk and providing direction during operational challenges
Supporting departmental targets, customer service standards and operational requirements
Working closely with management teams to deliver transport projects and business initiatives
Identifying opportunities to improve fleet utilisation and reduce empty mileage
Supporting transport integration and continuous improvement programmes across the wider business
Working alongside the Logistics Manager to prepare and manage European transport quotations
Maintaining effective communication with customers, suppliers and internal departments
Conducting one-to-one meetings, performance reviews and annual appraisals
Providing departmental cover and operational support as required
