An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Director to join a growing international manufacturing and distribution business during a major transformation phase. Reporting into a global structure, you will lead the development of a new Group Procurement function, centralising procurement activities across UK and other global operations. This role will focus on supplier rationalisation, contract negotiations, category management, cost reduction and implementing group-wide procurement processes and governance. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven procurement leader looking to make a significant impact within a growing global business.
The Procurement Director will be responsible for:
- Develop and implement the Group Procurement Strategy
- Lead supplier negotiations, sourcing and contract management
- Drive cost savings, rebates and working capital improvements
- Consolidate supplier agreements across international operations
- Build procurement processes, policies and KPI reporting
- Develop and lead a global procurement team
- Manage supplier risk and sourcing strategies
- Partner with Operations, Finance and Supply Chain teams globally
Skills & Experience
- Proven senior procurement leadership experience within manufacturing or distribution
- Previous experience within roles such as Procurement Director, Head of Procurement, Group Procurement Manager, Senior Purchasing Manager, Supply Chain Director or Category Director within manufacturing, engineering or distribution environments.
- Experience building procurement functions and leading transformation projects
- Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management skills
- Multi-site or global procurement experience
- Strong ERP and procurement systems knowledge
- CIPS or Degree qualified
