We are seeking an experienced and people-focused HR Officer to join a growing organisation and play a key role in delivering a professional, commercially focused HR service.

Working as part of a well-established and long serving team, this is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking for a role where they can make a genuine impact, build strong relationships across the organisation and take ownership of a broad range of HR activity.

This is a newly created role, reporting directly to the HR Manager, you will provide trusted HR advice, support managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle, and contribute to the continued development of people practices and initiatives.

Responsibilities and duties will include, but not limited to

  • You will be responsible for providing a proactive and professional HR service, including:
  • Providing day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers, supervisors and employees.
  • Managing a broad range of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability, performance, wellbeing and flexible working cases.
  • Supporting the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to development, retention and offboarding.
  • Coaching managers and senior colleagues on HR policies, employment legislation and best practice.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential HR records and systems.
  • Supporting recruitment activity, interviews and onboarding.
  • Working closely with relevant internal stakeholders to ensure recruitment and onboarding processes are effective and compliant.
  • Producing HR reports and people metrics to support informed decision-making.
  • Monitoring absence and supporting initiatives around attendance, engagement and employee wellbeing.
  • Supporting the development of employee engagement, reward and recognition initiatives.
  • Building effective relationships with external recruitment and training partners.
  • Supporting and developing members of the wider HR team.
  • Contributing to HR projects and the wider people strategy.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for an experienced HR professional who is confident working across a broad range of HR matters and able to build credibility and effective relationships at all levels.

You will ideally have

  • CIPD Level 5 / 7 qualification as a minimum or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Previous experience working in an HR Officer or similar HR position.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Experience managing employee relations matters.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
  • A genuine interest in developing people and improving the employee experience.
