Supporting projects from initial concept through to final design release, you will play a key role in developing practical, cost-effective and technically robust solutions.
Working within a collaborative and fast-paced environment, the successful candidate will take ownership of design activities across multiple projects, liaising with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure requirements are met and projects are delivered successfully. This position offers the chance to work on varied and technically interesting projects while developing your skills within a growing business.
The Project Design Engineer will be responsible for:
- Producing detailed 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks and CAD software
- Developing engineered solutions for bespoke security and caging projects
- Creating technical drawings, specifications, bills of materials and production documentation
- Managing the design aspects of multiple projects simultaneously
- Collaborating with customers and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements
- Reviewing and improving existing products and systems
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant quality, safety and industry standards
- Supporting projects through design, manufacture and installation phases
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, functionality and project delivery
We are looking for someone who has experience in:
- A Design Engineer, Project Engineer, CAD Engineer or similar engineering design role
- Producing detailed designs using SolidWorks
- Working with fabricated steelwork, sheet metal or modular assemblies
- Creating complex assemblies and production-ready engineering documentation
- Managing projects and coordinating multiple priorities
- Solving technical challenges through innovative and practical design solutions
- Working independently whilst maintaining strong communication with wider project teams
