A leading international manufacturer is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join its engineering team on a fixed term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer or Process Engineer to support new product introduction (NPI) activities, process improvement projects and engineering change implementation within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Whilst experience within the automotive industry would be highly advantageous, candidates from other manufacturing sectors will be considered if they have strong experience of Bills of Materials (BOMs), routing creation, manufacturing processes, continuous improvement and production engineering.
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for:
- Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities including process trials, product launches and engineering changes
- Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), routing information and manufacturing data within the ERP system
- Developing process documentation including PFMEAs, process flow charts, standard work instructions and control documentation
- Supporting PPAP submissions and associated launch documentation
- Driving Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve quality, efficiency and productivity
- Conducting Root Cause Analysis and implementing corrective and preventative actions
- Supporting manufacturing cells and production teams with process optimisation activities
- Working closely with Quality, Production, Planning and Project teams to ensure successful product introduction
- Monitoring manufacturing performance and implementing process improvements to achieve customer and business requirements
- Supporting health, safety and environmental objectives within the manufacturing environment
We are looking for someone who has experience in:
- Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer or Process Engineer role.
- Strong understanding of BOMs, routing creation and manufacturing processes.
- Experience supporting NPI, product launches and engineering change activities
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
- Automotive supplier experience desirable but not essential
- Experience using an ERP system would be advantageous
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline
- Strong communication, problem-solving and organisational skills
