  • Salary – £27,000 - £28,000 depending on experience

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR and Payroll Coordinator to join a well-established organisation operating within a regulated and safeguarding-focused environment.

This role will support the day-to-day delivery of HR and payroll services, working closely with senior leadership to ensure a professional, responsive and efficient people function.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in HR administration, recruitment, payroll support and HR systems, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities, from advertising vacancies through to interview arrangements.
  • Support candidate communications and deliver a positive recruitment experience.
  • Manage onboarding processes, including employment checks, contracts and induction arrangements.
  • Ensure compliance with safer recruitment and safeguarding requirements.
  • HR Administration
  • Process employee lifecycle changes, including starters, leavers and contract amendments.
  • Prepare contracts, letters and employment-related documentation.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for HR queries, escalating matters where appropriate.
  • Support absence management administration and routine employee relations casework.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • HR Systems & Reporting
  • Support the administration and maintenance of HR and payroll systems.
  • Provide guidance to system users and assist with troubleshooting.
  • Produce workforce reports and management information.
  • Contribute to training materials, user guides and process documentation.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee data.
  • Payroll Support
  • Assist with monthly payroll processing; this will not be the full process, but more likely adding new starter information, or updating payroll if any additions or deductions need to be made.
  • Validate payroll information against contracts and authorised documentation.
  • Ensure employee changes are processed accurately and within required timescales.
  • Support the preparation and submission of payroll-related data.
  • Compliance & General Duties
  • Support HR projects, policy updates and people initiatives.
  • Work in accordance with employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in employment law and sector requirements.
  • Uphold confidentiality and data protection standards at all times.
  • Support safeguarding, health and safety, equality and compliance obligations.

About You

  • Ideally a minimum 2-3 years' experience in an HR environment.
  • CIPD Level 3 qualification, with progression towards CIPD Level 5.
  • Experience using integrated HR and payroll systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Professional communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information sensitively.
