Duties:
- Lead end-to-end payroll process ensuring accuracy for salary, overtime, sickness, deductions, and all other pay elements in a timely manner.
- Hydra superuser ensuring all data is maintained, ensuring daily anomalies are cleared.
- Maintenance of SAGE Payroll and Sage P11D systems.
- Produce and distribute P45's, P46's, and annually P60's and P11D's.
- All payroll filing.
- Maintenance and updating Workday.
- New starter and leaver admin processes.
- Update holidays and shutdowns in Hydra and distribute holiday cards.
- Maintenance of holiday spreadsheet.
- Accurately work out pay calculations for holidays, basic hours for job changes, starters, and leavers both annually and pro rata, for both hourly and salary paid staff.
- Update payroll notice boards.
- Accountable for the processing of the monthly payroll and HR administration tasks associated with payroll.
- Maintain the accurate processing of all pension schemes including people’s pension and private pensions.
- Answer all pay queries promptly in a friendly approachable manner.
- Monitor compliance including HMRC, ethical trade initiative, NI compliance, tax code changes, AOEs, SSP, SMP, SPP.
- Support with payroll audits.
- Collect all payroll information for annual audit purposes.
- Responsible for issuing EOTM certificates and long service awards.
- Tusker car scheme maintenance.
- Pay care and personal group spreadsheet and payment maintenance.
- Liaise with finance on a regular basis, keeping them informed of any big changes for their records, for example, leavers of any of the schemes.
- Calculate weekly hours for agency staff, sending time sheets and signing invoices.
- Implement pay increases and any changes.
- Deal with temporary staff timesheets emailing agency weekly and double checking and signing off invoices.
- Manage the agency gender analysis tracker.
- Any other reasonable management request.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience of running end-to-end payroll.
- Excellent communicator with a high level of accuracy/attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Working knowledge of a time and attendance system would be an advantage.
- Experience of Word and Excel to an intermediate level would be beneficial.
- A manufacturing background would be an advantage.
- Experience with different shifts would be an advantage.
- A strong background in payroll administration and good working knowledge of HMRC legislation.
- CIPP Payroll qualification or equivalent would be an advantage.
