Our successful Shrewsbury client has a vacancy for an Assistant Accountant on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for entering, and the accuracy of, the company’s financial records.
You will be responsible for:
- Create a quarterly cash flow forecast for all bank accounts and update/maintain daily.
- Processing of invoices, maintaining ledger balances, monitoring all reports in the system.
- Prepare and process all appropriate payments and receipts through the bank system.
- Reconcile the main bank account on a daily basis and reconcile all bank accounts on a monthly basis.
- Maintain billing and cash processing.
- Maintain the petty cash function ensuring availability of funds when required and that all transactions are authorised and processed in a timely manner.
- Assist credit controllers with cash allocations and queries if required.
- Process and reconcile all company credit card transactions.
- Ensure authorisation matrix is always kept up-to-date and all bank transactions have appropriate authorisation.
- Process and reconcile cash sheets.
- Assist the Financial Controller with preparation of the management accounts.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis for review.
- Assist with stock takes on a yearly basis and to audit counts and petty cash records.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will need to have had experience of working in a similar role. You will need strong MS Excel skills and knowledge of online banking systems. Good communication skills both written and verbal are essential.
