We are working with a specialist manufacturing business who are looking to add an experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator to their team. This role is ideal for someone skilled in bending, rolling and forming sheet metal to tight tolerances, working from patterns, and calculating bend allowances and forming characteristics. You will be involved in producing precision components that meet exact engineering specifications, using your knowledge of metal behaviour, temperature control and forming techniques. You will be getting involved in:
- Bending, rolling and forming sheet metal components to precise tolerances
- Working from patterns, templates and engineering drawings, ensuring dimensional accuracy
- Calculating bend allowances, material spring-back and forming sequences
- Using forming machinery such as rollers, presses, brakes and manual fabrication tools
- Monitoring material temperature and behaviour during forming to ensure integrity
- Performing MIG welding where required (training can be given)
- Carrying out fabrication tasks with high attention to detail and minimal rework
- Maintaining an organised and safe workshop environment
- Supporting other fabrication and production activities as instructed by supervisors
We are looking for someone who has:
- Bending, forming and rolling sheet metal in a fabrication or manufacturing setting
- Working to tight tolerances and following complex patterns or templates
- Reading technical drawings and understanding fabrication sequences
- Using hand tools, forming tools and power tools confidently
- Working efficiently to production targets and deadlines
- MIG welding (advantageous but not essential)
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fabrication & Welding or Sheet Metal Work (preferred)
