We are working with our well-established global manufacturing client based in Telford who currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HSE Advisor to join their team. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) with additional exposure to Quality (QMS / ISO 9001).
This is a hands-on, site-based role suited to a proactive HSE professional who enjoys driving compliance, improving safety culture and leading continuous improvement initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing / industrial environment.
Reporting into senior UK leadership and working closely with site managers and the Quality function, the HSE Advisor will play a key role in maintaining ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems, promoting best practice in health & safety, and supporting wider business improvement.
As the HSE Advisor, you will be responsible for:
- Leading Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) activities across two manufacturing sites, ensuring full legal and regulatory compliance
- Maintaining and improving ISO 45001 (Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) management systems, with involvement in ISO 9001 (Quality Management System)
- Overseeing risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work (SSOW), ensuring they are reviewed, updated and communicated effectively
- Managing HSE compliance registers, staying up to date with UK HSE legislation and liaising with regulatory bodies (HSE, Environment Agency)
- Delivering HSE training, toolbox talks and safety briefings to promote a positive safety culture on site
- Supporting contractor management processes including RAMS review and site safety controls
- Monitoring, analysing and reporting on environmental and sustainability metrics including waste management, energy usage, emissions and CO2 data
- Supporting site inspections, emergency preparedness, PPE compliance, first aid and environmental controls
Previous experience in a HSE Advisor / HSE Officer / EHS Advisor / SHE Advisor / Health & Safety Advisor role within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.
NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Health & Safety qualification).
Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation (HSE), environmental compliance and ISO standards (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001).
Experience of audits, risk assessments, COSHH and incident investigation (RIDDOR).
Full UK driving licence essential.
