Job Description

Finance Manager Telford Permanent37.5 hours per week Salary - £50,000 - £60,000Our successful and award-winning Telford client is looking for a Finance Manager to join their team.

As Finance Manager you will sit in between the Head of Finance and an Assistant Accountant and a Accounts Assistant (who will directly report into this role).

As Finance Manager, duties will include, but wont be exclusive to: Produce monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow forecasts, variance analysis, and performance commentary for Directors.

Lead all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis to support business growth, profitability, and decision-making.

Manage project financials, including job costing, budget monitoring, WIP reporting, cost-to-complete forecasts, margin analysis, and profitability reporting.

Partner with Project Managers, QSs, Estimators, and Commercial teams to provide financial insight, identify risks, and maximise project returns.

Oversee all day-to-day finance operations, including sales and purchase ledgers, payroll, bank reconciliations, VAT, CIS, invoicing, and year-end accounts.

Actively manage cashflow, working capital, credit control, supplier payments, and cash collection to maintain strong liquidity and financial stability.

Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and reporting requirements, liaising with external accountants, auditors, and financial institutions as required.

Develop, maintain, and improve financial controls, policies, systems, and reporting processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.

Identify and mitigate financial and project-related risks while monitoring performance against budgets and forecasts, implementing corrective actions where necessary.

Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, embedding financial awareness across the business and supporting a high-performance culture.

Skills and Experience The successful Finance Manager will need experience of working in a similar role including line management.
