Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Senior Buyer to take ownership of purchasing activities, supplier management, and procurement performance.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong purchasing experience who enjoys balancing strategic supplier management with hands-on operational procurement responsibilities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
As the Senior Buyer, you will be getting involved in:
- Leading and supporting a small team of Purchasing Administrators, ensuring procurement activities are completed efficiently and accurately
- Managing supplier relationships, performance reviews, and identifying opportunities to improve service, quality, and cost
- Negotiating pricing agreements, lead times, and commercial terms with suppliers
- Overseeing purchase order activity and ensuring materials are delivered on time and in full
- Supporting sourcing and supplier selection activities to meet business and production requirements
- Identifying and delivering cost-saving initiatives through effective negotiation and supplier management
- Working closely with planning, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure materials availability
- Monitoring inventory levels and supporting stock optimisation initiatives
- Driving continuous improvement within procurement processes and systems
- Producing procurement reports and analysing supplier performance data
We are looking for someone who has experience in:
- Purchasing, Procurement, or Supply Chain roles within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Managing supplier relationships and negotiating commercial agreements
- Supporting, mentoring, or supervising junior procurement team members
- Delivering cost reduction and supplier performance improvement initiatives
- Working with MRP/ERP systems, ideally SAP
- Strong commercial awareness and excellent negotiation skills
- A proactive and organised approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Previous experience in roles such as Buyer, Senior Buyer, Lead Buyer, Purchasing Supervisor, Purchasing Team Leader, Purchasing Manager, or Procurement Specialist.
