Are you an experienced Materials Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Production Planning Manager or Master Scheduler looking for your next challenge within the automotive manufacturing sector? We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier seeking an experienced Materials & Production Planning Manager to join their leadership team. This is a critical role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment where you will be responsible for overseeing production planning, materials management, inventory control and supply chain activities to ensure customer requirements are delivered on time and in full.
The Materials & Production Planning Manager will be responsible for:
- Leading and developing the Production Planning, Scheduling and Materials teams
- Managing all aspects of materials planning, inventory management and production scheduling
- Delivering effective Master Production Scheduling and supporting monthly Sales & Operations Planning
- Ensuring customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time
- Collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to guarantee material availability and uninterrupted production
- Managing supplier performance and resolving material shortages
- Driving inventory accuracy and stock optimisation initiatives
- Creating daily sequencing plans and managing shop orders
- Monitoring planning parameters and maintaining accurate ERP system data
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities across planning and supply chain operations
- Supporting a strong culture of safety, quality and operational excellence
- Ensuring compliance with IATF16949 and relevant ISO standards
- Leading change management initiatives and supporting business transformation projects
We are looking for someone who has experience in:
- Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Production Planning or Scheduling within a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment
- Managing production schedules in a high-volume manufacturing operation
- Master Production Scheduling and S&OP processes
- Inventory control, supplier management and demand planning
- Automotive quality systems including IATF16949
- Lean Manufacturing or similar continuous improvement methodologies
- Leading, coaching and developing teams
- Working with ERP systems; SAP experience would be highly advantageous but is not essential
