We are supporting a well-established manufacturing organisation in their search for a Senior Quality Systems Engineer to take ownership of the company’s Quality Management System and ensure ongoing compliance with IATF16949:2016. This is a key role within the business, offering the opportunity to lead audits, drive continuous improvement, and support wider operational teams in maintaining high standards across Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience within an IATF16949 environment and a proactive, collaborative approach to quality leadership.
The Senior Quality Systems Engineer will be responsible for:
- Daily site checks and readings in line with statutory and company requirements
- Maintain and further develop the existing Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with IATF16949:2016
- Support operational teams in developing processes and documentation aligned to certified standards and industry best practice
- Co-ordinate and facilitate customer audits and third-party audits (including certification and surveillance audits)
- Plan and manage the internal audit schedule across all areas of the business
- Conduct internal system and process audits
- Co-ordinate corrective actions for 3rd-party non-conformities and produce associated reports
- Deliver mentoring and training on Quality Management Systems as required
- Support Health & Safety and Environmental teams in maintaining ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards
Skills and Experience:
- Strong experience working within an IATF16949:2016-certified manufacturing environment
- Solid understanding of Quality Management Systems, audit processes, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience in conducting internal and external audits, including supplier audits
- Knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards, with the ability to support Environmental and H&S systems
- Confident in managing third-party audits, non-conformance investigations, and corrective action processes
- Strong communication and coaching skills, with the ability to deliver training across the business
- Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple quality activities simultaneously
- Proficient in analysing data, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate documentation
- A proactive, collaborative approach to driving quality excellence across operational teams
