We are recruiting for a large international manufacturing organisation based in Telford. They are looking for a Costing Analyst on a permanent basis. This role is vital to ensuring a robust, accurate & timely reporting process to support key business decisions.
As Costing Analyst, duties will include:
- Detailed analysis of all manufacturing activities including variable labour, machine efficiency and material usage (actual versus standard).
- Prepare and process monthly management account journals for all manufacturing activities.
- Reconciliation of associated balance sheet accounts.
- Produce monthly report for Operational Managers for all manufacturing variances.
- Produce monthly report for Supply Chain Managers for purchase price variance analysis and associated costs including taxes and landed costs.
- Review and monitor stock valuation and provisions including - Stock adjustments, obsolescence, negative stocks, sample stocks, quarantine stocks, external stock warehouses.
- Produce a monthly report explaining stock valuation.
- Yearend standard costing process for budgeting.
- Costing analysis for new products and amendments to existing products.
- BOM & Routing accuracy.
- Yearend accounting and compliance audit work.
- Build strong relationships across the business to gather the necessary data for accurate cost forecasting.
- Work with manufacturing teams to provide accurate and forecasted production costs.
- Associated ad hoc tasks as required.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working in a manufacturing/engineering environment and an understanding/knowledge of estimating or costing techniques and variance analysis. You will be a confident communicator who is confident speaking to people at all levels within the business. You will have good analytical and data validation skills and be comfortable working with large volumes of data. You will need to have strong MS Excel skills.
