Buyer Location: Telford Duration: Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday – 37.5 hrs per week Package: up to £40k per annum Company Bonus Healthcare cash Plan Life Assurance Cover Excellent employer matched pension Death in service + other perks Prince Personnel are recruiting for Buyer to provide procurement expertise and support to the existing procurement department within a prestigious, global manufacturing business. You will be working in a fast-paced environment and will need to be comfortable working under pressure. This is a long-term client of ours which is genuinely a great place to work and a well-established Telford business, with a really supportive team of staff and some flexi-time options. This role will require a dynamic, experienced Procurement professional who is able to undertake a wide range of tasks, and in return get to be part of an experienced and supportive team working for a leading, global manufacturing business. As the Buyer you will be getting involved in: * Supporting activities around procurement for both direct and indirect commodities * Sourcing, negotiating and agreeing terms and conditions with suppliers * Assisting with materials planning and the placement of purchase orders for direct materials for manufacturing * Ensuring MRP/ERP system is kept up to date with procurement data * Managing and resolving any supplier delivery issues * Expediting orders * Supporting with indirect procurement activities * Managing any supplier performance issues Skills and Experience * Previous experience in a strategic Buying role with experience in leading supplier identification, negotiations of terms and conditions, supplier development and supplier performance management * Computer literate – previous experience on Excel and/or an ERP or MRP system would be advantageous * Previous experience in procuring raw materials for production * High attention to detail and accuracy * Confident and deals well with pressure in a fast-paced environment * Experience in indirect categories would be beneficial but is not essential as support will be provided * Strong knowledge of procurement process and be able to identify and make improvements The application process: We will carefully consider your details and advise you if we\’re able to progress with your application within 72 working hours.
