We are pleased to be supporting a forward-thinking SME manufacturing business based in the Dudley area who have a really exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer to join them and work with them on some really exciting projects. This role will involve creating drawings for both standard and bespoke orders, receiving customer specification and requirements, producing CAD drawings, models, and BOMs. This business is going from strength to strength and boasts an excellent reputation within their market.
The Design Engineer will be responsible for:
- Produce detailed designs, drawings and models for bespoke and standard product ranges
- Creating technical specifications and BOMs
- Ensure drawings meet customer specifications and requirements
- Liaise with internal teams and customers on design specifications
- Create production drawings for manufacture
- Planning and conducting product testing
- Work with production teams to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture
- Liaise with internal departments on project status
- Work to improve existing designs and product ranges
- Dealing with technical queries via telephone or email
Skills and Experience:
- Experience using 3D CAD - Solidworks preferably
- Degree level qualification in Engineering discipline
- Experience with sheet metal would be advantageous
- Experience within a similar level role
- Previous experience in a Design Engineer / CAD Engineer / Design Technician / CAD Technician / Design Analyst / Junior CAD Designer / Junior Design Engineer / Graduate Designer / Graduate Design Technician / Graduate Design Engineer / CAD Design Engineer / CAD Designer
