Job Summary
The Assembly Technician I, under the supervision and guidance of the Operations Manager, will interpret and utilize work instructions to perform mechanical assembly on various parts to meet Prince and customer quality standards and expectations.
This position is on 2nd shift with working hours from 2:30 pm – 1:00am M-F.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical box builds and sub-assemblies using customer blueprints and standard assembly procedures.
- Install hardware components including Helicoils, dowel pins, bushings, thermal pads, and standard fasteners using proper tools and techniques.
- Works to specifications, instruction sheets, prints, written/verbal and computer instructions to fabricate/assemble/inspect products manually.
- Follow assembly instructions, travelers, and BOMs with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Use hand tools, torque drivers, calipers, and other basic measurement equipment to ensure fit and alignment.
- Adhere to quality control and inspection guidelines.
- Identify basic assembly issues and elevate more complex technical problems to senior staff or engineering.
- Support cleanliness and organization of the assembly area in accordance with 5S and lean principles.
- Participate in cross-training and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to train entry level employees and others within your skill set.
- Adhere to safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 0 – 2 years of experience in high-complexity mechanical assembly, ideally in aerospace, defense, medical device, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
- Experience working in ISO/ AS9102-certified or aerospace/defense manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, quality-first mindset.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required.
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Compensation
$18 – $22/hr (based on experience)
