Temporary Ad Hoc Receptionist

Location: Thames Valley Park, Reading, UK

Working Hours: 08:30 – 17:00 (Ad Hoc Temporary Cover)

About the Role

We are seeking a professional, organised, and customer-focused Temporary Ad Hoc Receptionist to support our UK Head Office based in Thames Valley Park, Reading. This is a front-facing reception and office administration role within a modern corporate environment supporting approximately 250 employees across Customer Support, Senior Management, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and HR. The successful candidate will provide excellent front-of-house support, manage visitors and calls professionally, and assist with general office administration and facilities coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls using the in-house switchboard.
  • Meet and greet visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
  • Manage visitor registrations using the Envoy system.
  • Issue and track temporary and permanent access passes.
  • Coordinate daily visitor information with Building Security.
  • Maintain a tidy and professional reception area at all times.
  • Book meeting rooms and ensure rooms are prepared for meetings.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, courier bookings, and deliveries.
  • Manage loading bay access and shutter key coordination.
  • Order office stationery and conduct regular stock checks.
  • Monitor copier areas and replenish office supplies.
  • Liaise with onsite catering teams regarding hospitality requirements.
  • Support additional facilities and office administration tasks as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in Reception, Front Desk, Office Administration, or Facilities Support roles.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong telephone handling and communication skills.
  • Good organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently within a busy office environment.
