The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Databricks Architect who can lead from the front: designing modern lakehouse solutions, influencing client strategies, and driving innovation across data, analytics, and AI. You’ll work with enterprise clients to architect scalable, secure, high‑performance data platforms using Databricks and cloud-native technologies, playing a pivotal role from discovery through delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and deliver Databricks Lakehouse solutions that enable advanced analytics, AI, and BI.
- Provide expert guidance and strategic advice to clients at all levels.
- Engage early in presales conversations, shaping data strategy and modern platform adoption.
- Lead architectural engagements and own delivery of customer value across scope, time, and budget.
- Develop scalable ingestion, processing, and transformation pipelines using Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, DLT, and workflows.
- Implement governance, lineage, and security best practices across Databricks and cloud ecosystems.
- Optimise for performance and cost‑efficiency.
- Build and enforce CI/CD for Databricks workloads with Repos, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Contribute to RFIs, RFPs, and deliver innovative PoCs.
- Support the growth of the Architecture Practice through reusable patterns and frameworks.
What You’ll Bring
- Deep experience architecting and delivering enterprise-scale Databricks solutions end‑to‑end.
- Strong knowledge of Lakehouse Architecture, ML/AI-enabled analytics, and modern data practices.
- Hands‑on experience with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, Python, Scala, or SQL, ETL pipelines, workflows, Delta Live Tables.
- Strong cloud experience across Azure, AWS, or GCP, including networking, compute, and storage.
- Understanding of Databricks security: RBAC, IAM, encryption.
- Excellent communication with the ability to explain complex solutions to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Confident leading client workshops, architectural reviews, and shaping delivery proposals.
- The ability and courage to challenge thinking and influence best practices.
Valuable Certifications
- Databricks Certified Lakehouse Fundamentals (Highly regarded but not essential)
