Our school is seeking a compassionate and patient Preschool Teacher who can work independently and manage a classroom of young children. The successful candidate will have extensive experience working with young children, both in the classroom setting and with extracurricular activities. The Preschool Teacher will be part of an innovative and energetic team that creates a fun and inviting learning environment for all students.
Responsibilities:
- Teach children to follow instructions and rules.
- Ensure that children maintain a safe environment in the classroom.
- Act as a role model for children.
- Monitor children’s progress toward educational goals.
- Prepare and implement lesson plans.
- Conduct activities with children.
- Provide appropriate care to children with special needs or tendencies.
- Use a creative approach to teaching.
- Document activities and observations.
Job Types: Full‑time, Part‑time, Temporary. Pay is commensurate with experience.
Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the Director.
Desired skills and experience:
- Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency.
- Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
- Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
- For Infant and Young Toddler teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib.
- Infant –Early Preschool: 6 months of experience in the relative age group.
- Preschool Teachers: 2 year degree in early childhood or related field preferred.
- Pre‑Kindergarten Teachers: 4 year degree in early childhood or related field required.
- Kindergarten Teacher: 4 year degree in early childhood and certified to teach in the state in which the school operates required.
