QA and Accessibility Tester in Manchester

QA and Accessibility Tester in Manchester

Manchester Full-Time On-site
P

Every site and system we ship gets tested by someone who did not build it. Forms, payments, portals, apps, email, dark mode, slow connections, keyboard only, screen reader. The tester owns that pass and the evidence from it.

Accessibility is part of the job, not a separate audit. You will test to WCAG 2.2 AA with real assistive technology, and you will write the findings so a developer can fix them and a client can understand them.

What you will be doing

  • Write and run test plans for websites, apps and software releases.
  • Test accessibility with keyboard, screen readers and magnification, and against WCAG 2.2 AA.
  • Reproduce bugs precisely and log them with the steps, the evidence and the expected result.
  • Automate the checks worth automating, and leave the rest manual on purpose.
  • Sign releases off, or refuse to, in writing.

What you will need

  • At least five years of commercial work in this field that you can show us. We promise clients that everyone on their project has that, so it is not negotiable.
  • Testing of web applications where you owned the release decision.
  • Working knowledge of WCAG and at least one screen reader.
  • Bug reports a developer would thank you for.

Useful, not required

  • Playwright, Cypress or a similar tool.
  • Mobile app testing, including the stores' review process.
