We're working with an exciting stealth-mode fintech who are searching for a Full Stack Developer to join their growing London team.

The business operates at the cutting edge of financial infrastructure and regulatory compliance. Backed by $3.5M in seed funding from three serial founders who have each previously built, scaled, and exited businesses, this is a rare chance to get in at the ground floor of something genuinely exciting.

The Opportunity

You'll be one of the first two engineers on the London team, working directly with the CTO and collaborating with colleagues in New York. This isn't a role where you'll be maintaining legacy code. You'll have real ownership over technical decisions and direct impact on the product from day one.

The work spans backend services powering reserve monitoring and compliance reporting, integrations with financial data providers and banking APIs, and the frontend dashboards that make that data actionable for clients.

The Stack

  • Python
  • FastAPI
  • Pydantic
  • React
  • Vite
  • Postgres
  • Redis
  • Vercel
  • Render
  • Kinde

What they're looking for

  • Strong Python development experience, particularly in data-intensive or financial applications
  • Solid full stack capability across backend and React frontend
  • High agency, someone that will take ownership, move fast, and won't need hand-holding
  • Comfortable in an early-stage environment with evolving requirements
  • Excellent communication skills

How to prepare for a job interview at Primis

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Primis uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
