Tech Lead in Slough

We are currently working with a top-tier software company in central London that is seeking a Tech Lead to steer the technical direction of Python backend systems while contributing hands-on to critical features on their platform.

You\’ll architect scalable APIs and integrations, establish engineering standards, and work cross-functionally with various areas of the organisation.

What you will do:

• Architect Python backend systems (FastAPI, gRPC) and define technical standards
• Build complex APIs, data workflows, and external system integrations
• Lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and drive technical roadmap
• Productionise automation-generated code and workflow orchestration pipelines
• Collaborate with data platform, product and wider support teams

What you will need:

• 7+ years Python experience (FastAPI)
• Deep API design expertise (REST, gRPC) and SQL proficiency (PostgreSQL/MySQL)
• Track record building integrations (APIs)
• Experience owning a product end-to-end, and driving technical excellence
• Experience with CI/CD and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
