Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor Industry: IT Contract type: Temp to Perm or Permanent Location: Hybrid/London or Farnborough Salary: £85,000 – £100,000+ depending on experience The role: Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of AV installation projects, from contract award through to final account Conduct contract reviews upon project award, making sure the project team understands the commercial and contractual requirements Interpret and apply JCT, FIDIC and bespoke client contracts throughout project delivery Review procurement and subcontractor packages, assessing and authorising subcontractor payments against completed work Measure and value work completed on site, including installations, equipment deliveries and commissioning milestones Prepare valuations, progress applications, invoices, monthly cost reports and cash flow forecasts Identify, track and negotiate variations and compensation events to protect commercial performance Act as the main commercial point of contact for internal teams, clients and subcontractors, with scope to grow as the function expands into Ireland and Europe Skills needed: Professional experience in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related field Working knowledge of JCT and FIDIC contracts, ideally within AV, construction or technology integration (NEC experience is useful but rarely required) Experience managing budgets, cost reports and forecasting for technical or project based work Skilled in negotiating with clients and subcontractors to protect commercial outcomes Excellent numerical, analytical and communication skills, comfortable working under pressure RICS chartered or working towards chartership, with 5+ years post-qualification experience desirable An additional European language is a bonus, as is experience resolving payment or final account disputes Research indicates that men will apply to a role when they meet only 50–60% of the requirements, while women and other underrepresented groups often look for a 90–100% match.
